Bluff Park Cabin

This home is a log cabin tucked in very private wooded lot. The owner really enjoys hosting events and entertaining, so the goal of this project was to create more useable open space to comfortably accommodate more guests. Because it was a log cabin, the structure itself presented a challenge. We designed a timber framed addition that only has large panels of glass separating the inside from the back yard. So we went with a relatively contemporary styled solution with very traditional material and tied it back to the structure, so that it embraced the existing massing and it looks pretty seamless. It is designed as open gallery of multipurpose space which allows the owner to use it different for each individual event as they see fit. The openness allows lots of natural light and connectivity to the beautiful surroundings, and it creates a really powerful space.
